Norway.... land of deep forest and of lakes shining under the moon light, land of snowy mountains and of wild water creeksand of freezing rivers .Foaming falls come down from the mountains. Deep fjords surrounded by impressive mountains and the Atlantic Ocean restlessly lashes the rocky coasts of this narrow but long extended land.
Norway.....rich land of legends where reality and fantasy merge.
Land of men and Gods that continue to live throughout the memory of their deeds.
Stories about the Norvegian cat are very ancient. The mitology tells about the cat as an hero of many tales written in the first half of the 19th century; it is described as an enchanted cat with a thick and hair tall. Known in his homeland with the name of Norsk Skaukatt,
it is the descendant of the cats that sailed to far worlds on the Vikings' drakkars .
The presence of similar Felini in North America, would prove the theory
by which the Vikings' would have landed in the New World long
before Christopher Columbus.
Another theory looks for the origins of this cat not in the Lands of Norway
but in Asia Minor from where the Normans sailed back to Scandinavia with
a few Specimen of Angora Cats that would have then coupled with the local wild cats.
